I do believe that there are many more "Hidden Object" games out there, that the web site didn't list, and I'm pretty sure that I have a few of them. However, that's too much work for me tonight. Maybe in a month or so, I might come up with them.

p.s. The above games I have mentioned are only ones from the website's list, and are NOT from any list I have created. I just picked out ones I saw on the website's list that I had. I think the website is wrong on several, and has overlooked a bunch of other hidden object games.

For those, who have never played a hidden object game, here is a typical hidden object screen:

Image

(The list in the the small yellow rectangle on the right side of the screen are the objects you need to find in the picture.)

Some games are timed and some aren't. Some allow you clues, but with differing rules on how many, and how quickly you may have clues.

p.s. Play "Hidden Object" games at your own risk. I have warned you that most are a dumb waste of time. However, if you are a person, who has vacant time that you need to fill, these games might become addictive.

Impressive photo, and a lot of games, but something tells me that is just the tip of the iceberg. Tell the truth. How many more do you really have, that couldn't fit into the picture you posted? I'm guessing it's more than two or three...

p.s. Yeah, you probably don't have "Astrotit", but who does...? I've got it on a 5 1/4" pirated floppy somewhere, and I'm looking to buy an old IBM 286 machine to be able to play it again some day before I die. (It's a kinda naughty spoof on the old "Space Invaders" game.

Image

p.s. Are the games in your picture for one of the Nintendo console systems? Hell, I'm probably wrong, but I'll learn something from your answer. :D

"Haunted Legends: The Queen of Spades" (2011) is a hidden object game that I have just started. So far it looks like a pretty good game. Problem and puzzle solving seem to be what this game is mostly about, with the hidden object scenes few and far between. I think "Haunted Legends: The Queen of Spades" will wind up being a CLOUDY recommendation.

Here's a link to a video that shows several minutes of the game's beginning:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRSjlRnyj2o

p.s. I will try to come up with a better list of hidden object games I have. I'm quite certain my initial list is incomplete.

Here are some more of my hidden object games:

Image

"Amazing Adventures: The Lost Tomb"

Image

"Strange Cases: The Tarot Card Mystery"

Image

"Strange Cases: The Lighthouse Mystery"

Image

"Becky Brogan: The Institute"

Image

"Becky Brogan: The Mystery of Meane Manor"

Image

"Dead Time Stories"

Image

"Dr. Lynch: Grave Secrets"

I don't think I'm quite done with the list of my hidden object games yet, but relax out there. I think I'm getting pretty close. Got to do some more checking things out before I'm finished.

Have any of you played at least a few of these games...? If not, waste a couple bucks, buy one of them, and see how well you can do. :D

"Haunted Legends: The Queen of Spades" continued...

The farther I get into this game the better it gets. Though there are some hidden object scenes in the game, they have very little to do with the real game. "Haunted Legends: The Queen of Spades" is a wonderful and challenging compuer game where you have to figure things out.

This may be somewhat premature, but I will give the game a strong recommendation.

Here's one of the early puzzles I figured out:

Image

Got a feeling that there are more difficult ones to come.

So far the problem solving has been fun.

I'll stick my neck out, and tell you guys and gals that this is a game to buy. I think you will get your money's worth out of it. :D

Cloudy, most of the games in the picture are for the original Nintendo Entertainment System and the four in the front are fore the Super NES.

All the other games I have are computer based. I'll work on getting a list of the ones I have. Did you try Return to Ravenhearst yet?

BRANDYB, that is an impressive list. You are truly a computer gamer.

There is one that you listed that especially caught my attention. I am a "Sherlockian". and I try to get all of the Sherlock Holmes stuff that's out there. Sherlock Holmes computer games are something that I am particularly interested in. Until you listed it, I had never heard of the "Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles" computer game. Please tell us more about it.

I'm going on Amazon.com, and will try to find it.

Image

Here's a link to the lengthy intro to the game (No game play is shown.):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4Ap6jFoagw

I think the above link isn't the real beginning to the game. I actually went out and bought it tonight. Here is a link to what I downloaded from "Big Fish Games":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtPUbeN8RGE

Not going to try to play it tonight. It's too late.

p.s. Thanks for sending me off to spend money on a computer game, that I was going to use to buy food for Duncan the cat, who lives with me.

p.p.s I am a member of a scion of "The Baker Street Irregulars". Our Louisville scion is "The Silver Blazers", and my investiture is "Hall Pycroft", from "The Adventure of the Stockbroker's Clerk".

Image

I would be the young, handsom, naive guy on the right.

"The game is afoot..." :D

p.p.p.s. I'm starting to think that with the extreme disparity of the videos for this game, that there might actually be two different games, that share the same title...???

p.p.p.p.s. In a prior life, I was once a stockbroker, and that is why I chose Hall Pycroft as my investiture.

I thought that I was about done with the "Haunted Legends: The Queen of Spades" game. However, I found out that somewhere along the way I missed one of the cards that I needed to finish the deck of 52, and somewhere else I missed picking up a garden hose needed to finish he game. Not gonna try to go back and find them tonight. It's gonna take a lot of searching and a lot of time to try to find these two things, with all of the rooms and places I've gone through. If you know where the garden hose is, please tell me where it is.

p.s. I only skipped three of the puzzles. Maybe I'll play the game again, and see if I can solve them.

p.p.s. The hidden object scenes are only important, becasue in each of them one of the objects you find provides you with a tool that you need to solve a problem that run will run into later.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD GAME, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR THOSE, WHO ENJOY A GAME THAT INVOLVES A LOT OF PROBLEM AND PUZZLE SOLVING.

Thought shooting at real people in games makes me slightly queasy, I don't mind the whole shooting of Tea Party Zombies part. As long as they are actual zombies and not actual people from the Tea Party.

Bob, this looks like a good game to me. I'll see if I can pick it up.

Here's a link to the beginning of the game:

p.s. Would it be poltically incorrect, if I played it trying to help the "Tea Party Zombies" win?

DANTE, have you picked up "Martian Gothic: Unification" yet?

It's waiting for you...

Image

That is just one more place that you have to solve something, good luck... I know you can do it. Get off your butt and head to Mars, before it's too late...

p.s. While DANTE is doing more important things, perhaps some of you other guys and gals can head to the Red Planet, and help Martin Karne, Diane Matlock, and Kenzo Uji. They are waiting for someone to save their lives.

p.p.s. This is probably the best PC game I have ever played. If any of you decide to go to Mars and take on this challenge, scroll back to page 15 on this thread, and you will find a bunch of CLOUDY hints that should help you as you stuggle your way through "Martian Gothic: Unification".

p.p.p.s. You MUST go to the game's web site, and download a patch to to able to finish the game.

Brandy, I'm pretty sure that I've got "Return to Ravenhearst" somewhere. I think I have probably played it, but I cannot remember for sure. It might take me a while, but I will search around and try to find it. If I can't I'll go out and buy it, and play the game. All of these games have been great.

Brandy, I am embarrassed... I can't remember for sure, if I've played "Return to Ravenhearst" or not. I'm pretty sure that I have, but my memory is letting me down. I play so many computer games that it is very difficult for me to remember all of them. However, I promise to search for the game in the nooks and crannies of my house, and if I find it, I will load that sucker up again, and play it. If I don't find it, I'll get it, and put it in front of the line of computer games I need to play. Thanks for reminding me about "Return to Ravenhearst". :D

Why doesn't Microsoft respect games of the past...?

Microsoft has a bunch of smart guys, who work for them. How hard would it be for them, when they create a new operating system, to allow it to be backward compatible with computer games of the past? They don't, and this really pisses me off.

I tried to load four games on my computer tonight, which is running "Window 7: Ultimate". All of them started off fine, but went to shit very quickly.

The games that "Windows 7: Ultimate" said screw you to me were"

"Schizm"

Image

"Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, Volume III"

Image

"Escape the Museum"

Image

"Temujin"

Image

I'm pretty sure these are but a few of the computer games that I have, that I would like to play either for the first time, or just one more time, that Microsoft doesn't give a shit about. (I know that I have dozens more of them, that Microsoft Windows won't recognize anymore.) I may be alone on this, but if any of you other gamers out there have run into this bullshit, I think we need to let Microsoft know how pissed off we are. I really don't think it would be all that difficult for them to make their operating system backwad compatable for us to be able to play these games from the past.

I know that Microsoft won't listen to us, so write your senator and congress person about this...

I could answer this in great detail for you if you want, but will say this simply: incredibly, incredibly, incredibly hard -- indeed, almost impossible, at least to do natively. It would require an absolutely massive investment -- to the tune of billions of dollars -- to try to keep everything compatible.

This isn't just Microsoft's issue. You'd have to get everyone on board, from the Microsoft, to the software writer, or barring them, to the actual hardware makers. Some of the things the coding relies upon do not even exist in modern hardware/operating systems.

The best you will get -- and they have no financial incentive to do this, as you could obtain it if you want if you're deadset on it -- is to find an emulator.

Or, if you still have your product keys (or even if not on some), I can show you how to load your old Windows versions in a virtual machine (not guaranteed to work!) to run them.
