Hells bells, give NTN Buzztime a break. There's only a lil difference between 80 feet and 80 stories.

There was a question on Saturday asking "Which of the following nations is not an island chain?"
Answer option #1 was "Java".
The first problem is that Java isn't the answer NTN was looking for.
The second problem is that Java is not a nation.
The third problem is that it is only one island and not a chain.
The fourth problem is that I hit it and went back to watching the Penn St/Temple football game without further investigation.
The fifth problem is figuring out how to get 1K points back.

That should have been 8 stories, not 80. :(

1 - What's the problem? It's not the answer.
2 - Since it's not a nation, it can't be the correct answer.
3 - See number 2.
4 - You should keep your guard up at all times.
5 - Send marketing an e-mail. They have a few million extra points lying around.

Seriously, it's a very poorly worded question and I've fixed it. :)

FWIW, the person who last edited the question was the same one who did the Airbus question. That person no longer works here.

Heh heh. Excellent stuff. Don't take any guff from this Spotes guy, he's just a flash in the pan and he's pretty crusty as well.

Tonight's BT Trivia game 7:30 PM there was a question that asked which line was from a commercial jingle. The answer "here's to good friends" was correct, but the factoid said it from a Michelob commercial-it was actually from several Lowenbrau commercials.

In tonight's SIX game in the first round, there was a question that had "CARLBAD CAVERNS" as one of the wrong choices. Considering Buzztime's home base, it should be corrected to "CARLSBAD".

Well, after taking a lil hiatus from this... Image

Q2, Countdown, 2:30 P.M. Pacific - Question was about "Great Balls Of Fire". The factoid started something like "QUAID DIED HIS HAIR BLOND..."

Believe that "DIED" should have been "DYED".

Showdown, Tuesday night. A question asked which sports journalist influenced Ernest Hemingway. I'm pretty sure the correct answer given was "Ring Lardner Jr.," but I believe the answer ought to be "Ring Lardner" or "Ring Lardner, Sr."

You read it correctly. Should not have been Jr.

In yesterday's Sci-Files game, there were at least two questions that did not show the clues.
Instead, we got "XXX" three times.

Showdown, last Tuesday. The question asked something like "The dish loco moto is from ________" Our resident foodie was quite insistent that the dish is actually called "loco moco" (or "loco moko").

That's why I didn't consider Hawaiian, no T in their alphabet. No C either which kind of makes me wonder if it's not actually loko moko.

That seems to be a recurrent theme in Sci-Files, TomD. It's happened on at least two other occasions that I can remember.

FWIW, and IIRC, Q1 & Q11.

You're right. I've changed it to Loco Moco. There's one restaurant that serves a version called Loco Moto, hence the mistake. That's not an excuse, just an explanation.

A question on Sunday afternoon asked which cartoon character has a pony tail. The answer given was Jane Jetson & the factoid stated that the teenager something something...

Jane happens to be George's wife. I think the correct answer is Judy Jetson.
