If the Tigers can keep doing it, and the Cardinals do the same, my wild ass prediction of the Tigers and the Cardinals in the World Series could possibly come true. However, there still remain a lot of big "if's" out there...

....................................................................Image

Holding my breath, and got my fingers crossed. Go Tigers...! Go Cardinals...!

p.s. I always root for the real baseball teams instead of the Johnny-come-latelies.

Yeah, the Phillies are a real baseball team too. Time will tell which teams prevail.

p.s. I've got to ask you. Did you try out for the Boston Red Sox, and get cut from the team. Hell, they should have put you on the roster. A small stike zone, and a lot of walks would have put you on base, even if you couldn't hit the ball over the Green Monster. If I were manager back then, I would have you batting lead off. Plus I'm guessing that you are a fast runner, who would make it to second base on a ball hit into the infield, before the ball got there.

My records indicate that the lil' one had only one at-bat back in 1951 in Sportsmans' Park for the St. Louis Browns. Congrats on the walk...

LilJol could have been the Japanese Eddie Gaedel.

.............................. Looks like ball one to me.

No, it probably wouldn't have worked for LilJol, he is way too tall...

p.s. LilJol, do you bat left or right...? :D

p.p.s. Start working out and getting back in shape. The Red Sox will probably sign you this time. You never know my friend. Go for it...

The answer is... NEVER...! Only LilJol can still get a team spraying O'Doul's all over the place. He really needs to come out of retirement, and get get back into shape. Hillerich & Bradsby still have a few 23 once bats waiting for LilJol. Yep, they also have a somewhat bigger bat, but I doubt LilJol will be interested in it.

............... Come to Louisville, and check it out.

p.s. I went to the Oaks at Chruchill Downs with Jack Hillerich several years ago, and sat in his box. Jack actually came into Friday's, and played trivia a couple of times.

With Texas' ALCS-clinching win over Detroit in Game 6, NLCS Game 6 between the Cards and Brewers will take place at 8:05 ET Sunday.

Now that the Tigers are out of it, I'm saying, "Go Cardinals...!"

St. Louis was my best buddy, George's, favorite team. It is so sad that he passed away earlier this year, and has missed out on seeing his beloved Cardinals get to where they are.

I did renamed two of my play handles to CRDLWF n SQRLWF in honor of them. I will never change my 4M+ handles.

Not to be too much of a pedant, but, technically, it was the Boston Americans that won the 1903 World Championship.
The "Red Sox" moniker came later.
LJ probably still hates it, though...

LilJol, I know you have issues with the Boston Red Sox. However, you might want to reconsider your dislike for the team after reading this:

(The following was taken from Wikipedia.)

BOSTON RED SOX PARTNERSHIP

"The relationship that the Red Sox and the Jimmy Fund share is the longest standing, most extensive, and significant team-charity relationship in all of professional sports.

The Red Sox formed a partnership with the Jimmy Fund on April 10, 1953, and has continued to support the organization since. The anniversary of the partnership generally falls just before the Red Sox Home Opener. It is celebrated with the display of the Boston Red Sox/Jimmy Fund logo on the "Green Monster" in Fenway Park. In addition, the Red Sox team with radio station WEEI and TV station NESN to hold Jimmy Fund Day at Fenway Park and a 48-hour radio-telethon.

Ted Williams was the single most influential person in helping to raise funds for the Children's Cancer Research Foundation (now Dana-Farber Cancer Institute). He was an important aid to founder Dr. Sidney Farber, spreading word of Farber's research to help save children (and later adults) from the scourge of cancer.

Ted Williams was the Red Sox' biggest star when the Jimmy Fund was founded in 1948. He had a special love for children and was always willing to visit them in the hospital with no fanfare. He also continuously took part in Jimmy Fund fundraising efforts on behalf of the Red Sox organization, going to Little League games, American Legion banquets, temples and churches, movie houses, department stores for autograph sessions, even cookouts on Boston Common. Williams also announced that all donation checks for the Jimmy Fund sent to Fenway Park would be endorsed with his autograph for the donors.

It is estimated that Williams is personally responsible for raising millions of dollars in the fight against cancer and other related diseases."

Image ............... Image

.............. Ted continued his support of the Jimmy Fund until his dying day.
