In Sci-Files last week there was a question along the lines of "Which of these awards is given for/in Science Fiction?"

The correct answer was Hugos, obviously.

As I recall, the correct answer was "Nebulas". This is also correct, of course (though I think the award is known in the singular, as "nebula"). Hugo wasn't a choice.

Hrm. I think you're right. :)

There's a question in the database about Patton.
It asks about which place his most impressive victories were fought.
The desired answer is France.
The only problem is that Italy is also a choice,
Given that Patton commanded in Sicily, a part of Italy, in 1943, the player is now required to make a choice as to which one he thinks is more impressive to the question writer.
Subjectivity once again rears its fiendish head...

You're right. It has been fixed.

Wow! Eight minutes!
Is that a new personal best, TD? :D

Got lucky. Just happened to log in at the right time. :)

Final question in Six on 11/3 about Twilight characters Bella Swan and Edward Cullen had an answer of "Stephenie Meyers". Usually a misspelled answer is a good indication to stay away from that answer, but not in this case.

Correct name and answer is "Stephenie Meyer". (The odd spelling of Stephenie was actually correct in this case)

Yes, we got the hard part right and messed up the easy one. It has been fixed.

In tonight's Six game, there was a question in the Matching Round that read: "NATCH the river to its city". S/B MATCH.

Should have posted this last night, but doing it now. Wanted to verify this with others who played last night...

I forgot some of the details, but there was a question last night on Glory Daze. I think it was the 6th question. The final clue was a reference to "James", but two of the choices had that name in it; one (#3) was as a first name, the other (#5) was as a middle.

Correct. The answer was James Coburn but another choice was Edward James Olmos. You had a 50/50 chance.

Strange for me to be TV nitpicking but last night a BT filler against Sci-Files contained the question "what was Daphne's last name on Frasier?" While the correct answer is not difficult to work out one of the distractors was "Crane", a name she had for 22.2% of the show's run.

Hey, Daphne was British. Maybe it's knowledge that arose from his cultural DNA.

Hey now - there are half a dozen or so TV shows I watch(ed) routinely.

It was more the pseudo-intellectual snobbery than the English tart that made Frasier one of them incidentally ;)

Don't know if you'll be able to find this question in database with my partial information, but a BT question the other day asked which Johnny Cash event occurred first? BT answer was San Quentin prison, even though Folsom prison was a choice. From all research I've ever seen, Folsom prison performance came first...

My research says that his first concert was at Huntsville, Texas, in 1957. He then did one at San Quentin in 1958. Folsom wasn't until later. If we're talking about the recordings of concerts, Folsom was first in 1968 and San Quentin came in 1969. Either way, the question has been removed since it could be a bit confusing.

In the 1:15 p.m. EST BT, Q4 was, "Which game uses pieces called 'counters?'" The answer is Bingo, which is correct, but one of the distractors is Cribbage. Many people refer to the Cribbage spilikins as counters and many boards include game counters. Might want to consider a different distractor.

Well, after taking a lil peek at the Wiki entry for cribbage, methinks TomD might not budge on this one. Image

Yeah- that's why I wrote, "might." That said, I don't think Wiki plays cribbage with as many different people as I, and I assure you some folks call the pegs 'counters.'

Yes, but that doesn't make it correct. Many folks call Sydney the capital of Australia.

There was a question which asked what items were always worn by the spies in Spy vs. Spy, or something to that effect.
The desired answer was "Dark Glasses".
I did not remember them wearing glasses. So I looked and found dozens of images online that give no impression of glasses whatsoever. I think those are simply their eyes.
Further complicating matters, my pre-call of "trenchcoats" was on the list. I could be wrong, but I believe those long coats they wear could be construed as cartoonish trenchcoats.
That's a sign of great art; its ability to garner mass appeal and yet still retain individual meaning.
