In a Tuesday afternoon Sports Trivia game, either the 2:00 or 2:30 CDT one, there was a question of which player was a teammate of Magic Johnson on Michigan State's 1979 national basketball champions. Greg Kelser was the answer. That's fine. But the factoid listed other teammates, ending with Larry Bird. Appalling mistake.

What city has the LEAST population after Rome in Italy?

1. Venice
2. Porto Tolle (better than whatever answer was really here!)
3. Milan
4. Florence
5. Naples

answer: Milan

Improperly worded question.

You misread the question. It actually asked:

HE MADE THE 1979 FINAL
FOUR ALL-TOURNAMENT
TEAM WITH TEAMMATE MAGIC
JOHNSON:

The factoid was:

THE TEAM ALSO INCLUDED LARRY BIRD, MARK AGUIRRE AND GARY GARLAND.

It seems okay to me.

Oh let's give him a break, it's awfully difficult double-dipping a Q or two in sports trivia games while also playing CD/LTT. Almost impossible to actually read and give a valid answer. Those blessed P+ points are something else.

They had college basketball all the way back in 1979?
Thank goodness there aren't any premium games on the network asking about that kind of arcanum.

In tonight's Brain Buster, it asked who Melchior ond Caspar were in the Christian Bible. I'm no Christian, but if I recall, the magi were nameless in the Bible.

Neither am I of course but you are certainly right. Not only that but unnumbered as well. The number came from the gifts they brought.

Was several centuries before tradition gave them names. About 4-5 as I recall.

Some Eastern Christian traditions have 12 magi with names for them all.

Regarding the BB question regarding population where the answer was Mongolia, didn't it ask for least populous or did I have a brain fart? San Marino and Maldives (thought those were choices unless I was completely screwed up) would have fewer people. Just have it in my brain that question was so screwed up I must've have read something wrong.

Perhaps I misread it... my apologies and thank you for checking up on it.

I think it was asking for lowest population density.

It asked for the "most sparsely populated" country of the list. I took it to mean population density, but it was a poorly worded question.

I took a break from play last night. But based on what I am reading here it sounds like a reasonable question, as that's exactly what it means to be sparsely populated - low population density.

That makes sense. I changed it to Christian tradition instead of Christian Bible.

The question was:

WHICH OF THESE NATIONS
IS THE MOST SPARSELY
POPULATED?

As others have pointed out, that sounds okay to me.

I wasn't present for this question but one of the guys said that they were given a question about Lucky Luciano's first name and both Charles and Salvatore were on the list.

Thanks Tom, as others have suggested, I actually read it correctly but interpreted sparsely as least populous. Not the only stupid mistake I made that game.

Q8 Trendalicious: Eric Taylor was the head coach for which team on Friday Night Lights?

Panthers and Lions were answer choices, which are both correct.

Something along the lines of: Who wore a blue blazer with large brass buttons?

A. Captain Kangaroo

I only remember Captain Kangaroo with a red blazer. Did he wear a blue one before my time?

Yes - he wore a blue one before that.
