Me drinking is a big ass lie and you know it. I rarely drink and you could drink me under the table 10 times.

Cloudy got busted for running shine up I-71 from Louisville to Cincinnati.

TEVERETT, I didn't say you drank a lot, which I know you don't. However, there is a possibility that your metabolism converts regular food into alcohol, which your gall bladder tries to filter out, and stores up to keep you alive.

As for getting busted running moonshine up I-71 from Louisville to Cincinnati, TEVERETT was driving behind me, supposedly guarding my six, when the Ohio State Police pulled me over. At my trial, I found out that TEVERETT was part of a sting operation, who called in the cops on her cell phone, once I crossed the state line. Worse yet, she testified against me at my trial. Even worse, TEVERETT never took the time to visit me while I was behind bars. When I got out of jail, I asked her why she never came to see me. Her answer was, "Come on CLOUDY, it's a question of priorities. Missing Buzztime Trivia, or visiting a convicted jail bird is pretty easy to figure out. I hope you can understand."

TEVERETT wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She showed up for tryouts, and had more pep and energy than any of the other broads, who were trying out. She wowed them with her backflips, hand stands, cartwheels, and many other gymnastic stunts. She was by far the best, when it came to the pom pom waving trial. She out shouted all of the other gals on the Cowboy cheers, and she knew every word. She even showed them that she could sing the National Anthem better than the opera diva, whom the Cowboys were paying big bucks to.

However, she didn't get the job...

Why...?

TEVERETT made a big mistake. She showed up wearing a Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader outfit.

Cloudy, I would be better off as a member of the Baltimore Ravens (formerly the Baltimore Colts) Marching Band.

Cloudy was arrested when he was wearing the Cincinnati Bearcat costume a couple of years ago for throwing snowballs on the football field.

After failing to get the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading job, TEVERETT tried out for the Baltimore Ravens marching band. She demonstrated that she could play every instrument they had from bass drum to piccolo perfectly. She marched down the field, waltzing through every complicated formation without a misstep, and playing whatever instrument they gave her. She marched and played as well as anyone from "The President's Own", the Marine Corps Band. John Philip Sousa would have been proud of her.

Sadly, TEVERETT blew it again.

What did she do this time...?

Just as she was about to sign a six figure contract with the Ravens, she said, "I can't believe that I'm going to be with you guys. I wouldn't be here, if I didn't love the old Baltimore Colts. I'm so glad that you have revived the team that I rooted for so many years ago. I hated all of the other teams, especially the Cleveland Browns, who were just a bunch of losers!"

The team owner snatched the contract from her hands, tore it up, and said, "We were the Cleveland Browns!"

Cloudy. What band member gets a six figure contract? No one..

Cloudy can be found playing the callope on the Belle of Louisville. He failed his captaincy exam and being a musician is the only way he could Sail Away.

There is still hope for TEVERETT. After she figured out that the old Baltimore Colts were now the Indianapolis Colts, she made the short drive from Cincinnati over to Indianapolis one afternoon earlier this week. She brought videos of her Dallas Cowboys cheerleader tryout, as well as her Baltimore Ravens marching band performance. As I understand it the Colts were very impressed, and are considering giving TEVERETT the job of being the team's coordinator of both the cheerleading squad as well as the marching band. Jim Irsay took TEVERETT to lunch, and told her, "Kid, you are the woman this team needs to get fans in the stands. I know you can do it all on the field, but I think your talents go far beyond that. I see you in a much more important position for the Colts. I want you as the coordinator, and the job is yours, if you want it, but of course that means you will have to relocate."

Will TEVERETT take the big bucks, and leave Cincinnati...? Time will tell, but when she starts showing up playing trivia at the 86 Street Pub along with SPOTES every night, we'll know what she decided.

Gotta add this...

Yep, I did play the calliope on the Belle of Louisville for a short while, without any formal music lessons, I might add. However, what TEVERETT forgot to mention was that she was there too, turning the music pages for me, as my fingers flew across the keyboard. TEVERETT was having a wonderful time, and said to me, "Come on, Cloudy, that's toe tapping music. Put that sucker on automatic, and let's go on deck and dance."

Watch this to see my fingers making wonderful music:

TEVERETT's suggestion sounded good to me, and my fingers were getting tired, so I put the calliope on automatic, and went on deck to dance with TEVERETT. She was such a phenomenal dancer that I forgot to go back to my calliope duties, and as a result I was fired, when the Belle tied up to the dock.

Oh yeah, I need a baseless lie.

When I came up for a parole hearing, TEVERETT showed up, and told the parole board that the State of Ohio should never release a prisoner like this, until he served his full time behind bars, and learned his lesson.

So it looks like I'll miss several more Triviapaloozas, and I think it is only right that TEVERETT buy everyone Washington Apples, while I am stuck rotting behind bars.

p.s. For those of you, who don't know what's going on, scroll up about ten posts, and then you will understand.

p.p.s. Sorry ICEMAN, you slipped your post in while I was still editing this one.

Has anyone visited ICEMAN's new cable TV show...?

I had no idea that ICEMAN was an accomplished desert chef, until I happened upon his new cable TV show, while trying to find the Yankee vs. Tigers game the other night. Schwarzwalder Kirschtörte is but one of the dozens of desert recipes he walks people through. The deserts he creates sure looked yummy, but I was a little turned off, because he was wearing a dress and a bride of Frankenstein mask. Getting past his fake German accent was also a bit of a problem, but I guess that's show biz...

Iceman, Cloudy and Pengwn were set to star in a remake of the Three Stooges movie. However, they kept on arguing and nothing was filmed properly. Oh well.

Nah, we decided to skip the "Three Stooges" movie. It just wasn't our style. However, look for us staring in the remake of "The Three Amigos".

Now that we have the truth out of the way, it's time for yet another baseless lie about TEVERETT.

TEVERETT was always a big fan of the Three Stooges. In fact she became a Three Stooges groupie. Her infatuation with them abruptly ended after she planted a kiss on Curly's cheek, and he immediately pushed a custard pie in her face.

Obviously, PENGWN suffers from a psychological defense mechanism known as projection. Which, as I am sure you all know, is when a person attributes their own hidden subconscious thoughts, that they are unable to accept as their own, to others.

Hey, I just like being able to lie on a comfy couch for an hour

CLOUDY was the first person to pitch The Game of Life to Milton Bradley. They didn't go for it at the time, though. Probably because the track in CLOUDY's game only went in circles

PENGWN forgot to mention that he was also pitching "The Game of Life" to Milton Bradley at the same time. He had a much better idea for the game. It should be linear, not circular in his plan, and Milton Bradley went with PENGWN.

However, I need to say that old folks, as myself, don't want the "Game of Life" to be linear, because we know where we sit on that linear line. We want it to be circular, so we never get to the end of that line. Youngsters, as PENGWN, who view the life ahead of them as exciting and full of opportunity, want the "Game of Life" to keep marching forward, so they can attain the riches and happiness that awaits them down the road. Old folks would like to circle back, and have a second shot at them.

Image

p.s. I've never played Milton Bradley's "Game of Life", and I'm a little uncertain as to what "circular" and "linear" mean. I just made this whole post up, with the help of a few too many brewskis...

p.p.s I would assume that PENGWN is referring to the 1980 revision of the game, not the 1860 original.

It's been a week without anyone putting anything up on "Post Baseless Lies About the Person Above You...", so scofflaw that I am, I will once again violate ICEMAN's stringent rules in an attempt to get this thread going again. Hopefully, I will not be handcuffed and dragged off to jail this time for my transgression.

Liljol and Leo Tolstoy were good friends, who shared their ideas. One day Liljol showed Leo a story that he had written called "War and Peace". Tolstoy read it, and said to Liljol, "You've got something here, but I think it deserves more than three and a half pages. Would you allow me to borrow your title and expand on your story?" Liljol said, "That's fine with me. If you want to add something to it, go right ahead."

Six years later, Tolstoy told Liljol, "It's done! I'm finished with "War and Peace". Liljol thumbed through the pages and gasped, "You've got to be kidding. It's 1,440 pages long! No one will ever read this without being bored to death." Tolstoy replied, "Liljol, you are the wizard of pithiness and witt, but I'm taking it down to the Russkii Vestnik publishing people, and see if they will publish it anyway."

Liljol laughed at his friend, and said, "Leo you have wasted six years of your life trying to expand three and a half pages into one thousand, four hundred, and forty. You Russians are all the same, long on verbage and short on witt."

........................................ Image

..................................................... (Original story by Liljol.)

p.s. Let's see if this baseless lie gets Liljol over here to start this thread moving ahead again. :D
