I hate to be a party pooper, especially after the kind of production value that's been put into this thread recently :D , but I only know about the particulars of the movies themselves, not necessarily where people are hiding them.
Try one of the inverted auction sites and put out a couple of feelers for them.
You can borrow the money from Cloudy if you need to. He has some extra scratch in a unused envelope earmarked "Spotes' beer money"...

Sorry again, Frank, I spent "SPOTES' beer money", that I had saved up, on myself for booze, after everyone told me that SPOTES doesn't drink. Perhaps a case of Mountain Dew might work.

SPOTES, you ain't no party pooper. You are the man, when it comes to this movie stuff. I guess that for the rest of us to expect you to know absolutely everything about all movies, is asking too much. :D

"The Mask" (1961) was a sci-fi horror 3-D flick. I've got in on VHS, and it came with two pairs of cardboard, fold-up 3-D glasses in the box. It's not a great movie, and the cheap 3-D glasses leave something to be desired, but it's a fun movie to watch nonetheless. This isn't a high recommendation by any means, but it's kind of neat to watch it at home, and actually see cheesey 3-D on your own TV.

(The movie has at lease one alternative title, "Eyes of Hell".)

Here is a link to the movie's trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oFzwWTr9UY

p.s. There have been several other movies titled "Mask" that have nothing to do with this one.

................................................................................................ A DIRECTORY TO ALL MOVIES ON THIS THREAD

Here is a listing of all of the movies that have been recommended or mentioned on this thread, so far. With the thread growing to 23 pages, 299 movies, and 554 posts, it has become difficult at best for anyone, who might want to refer back to something, to ever find it. So I took a couple minutes to create this directory. I have done my best to list every movie that was recommended or mentioned in order. They are displayed by the page they appear on. I have given credit to those, who first posted each movie. I regret that I didn't think to keep track of which ones were recommendations, and which ones were merely mentioned. Duplicate recommendations were skipped, when I found them, but a few may have slipped by. (If anyone finds any mistakes or things I skipped over, please let me know, and I will correct them.) (THIS DIRECTORY HAS BEEN MOVED TO PAGE 33.)

"Mr. Destiny" (1990) stars James Belushi and Michael Caine. It's a fun movie that I think most will enjoy. I give it a high recommendation, even though the theme of the movie has been used before. I would describe it as a magical comedy with a message. It might even bring a tear or two to your eyes. Does it have a happy ending...? You will have to wach it to find out.

Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBJA98nsYJ4

I liked this movie so much that I decided to give you a link to a little bit more of the movie:

"Sahara" (1943) is a good World War II film, starring Humphrey Bogart. It's in black and white, but I think those of you, who like this type of movie, should see it. I'll bet that FrankC has seen it at least ten times.

Here are some links to video of the movie:

A couple of quick edits and comments about your list, Cloudy.

First, the edits:

#8 was not a movie title. It was a line cited from Under the Rainbow.
#203 - Frank's original post referred to The Thing with Two Heads starring Ray Milland.
you missed Gojira which should be #271 and everything after it moved down one spot.
#287 - that is Badlands not "Badlines".

Second, the comments:

I can't believe that there are actually 13 movies from this thread I haven't seen. Three I'll never watch; five seem impossible to obtain; but I fully intend on giving the remaining five a go, the fates allowing.

Lastly, I want it on the record that I did not, I repeat, did not, recommend Birdemic. Unless, of course, I've blundered into an alternate universe where it's all horribly, horribly true. If so, this must also be the same one wherein Pauline Kael couldn't stop gushing over Smokey and the Bandit II...

Part of one of my all time favorite lines, by the way. 8-)

SPOTES, thank you...! I have gone back, and I think I have corrected everything, including an error that I found on my own. ("Flying Saucers Attack!" was incorrect. Its actual title was "Earth vs. The Flying Saucers") Thank goodness "Gojira" was close to the end at #271, and better yet, I discovered that I had skipped over using #274, so renumbering was a simple task. (Maybe my subconscious caught my mistake, and left me an open number to correct it...?) Though you ABSOLUTELY DID NOT RECOMMEND "Birdemic", you did mention it on page 15, #205.

"In a slight breach of thread concept...
I just saw a movie titled Birdemic.
Could someone else be a sport and watch this film to confirm my
suspicion that it could in fact be the worst movie of all time?
I apologize in advance..."

Hell, you checked the entire "A DIRECTORY TO ALL MOVIES ON THIS THREAD" out. That had to be a big job. I doubt anyone else would have been thoughtful enough to have taken the time to do that. I thank you again. :D

Only 10 times!!! I am 65 years old. I have seen that movie at least once a year since I was 10 years old. The tank, an M3 Lee, is what my father drove in North Africa.

Frank, my dad wasn't too far away from yours in World War II. My father had dual Canadian and U.S. citizenship at the time. He volunteered to join the American Field Service as an ambulance driver with Canadians, and wound up with the Brits. I'm not sure if he was ever involved in North Africa, but I do know for sure that my father moved up into Syria during the war. Later he found himself in Italy, where his ambulance got blown up by German cannon fire one night, when he decided to sleep in the bunker instead of his vehicle, where he normally did. (Good move dad, I and my brothers wouldn't be here, if you didn't make that fateful decision all those years ago.)

Frank, you've got to be very proud of your father driving an obsolete tank against Rommel's Afrika Korps, and their state of the art tanks. I'll bet he had some stories to tell.

(Belated edit: I talked to my mother a couple of weeks ago at the nursing home. She will soon be 90, but she was having a good day for her. I asked her if dad was in North Africa in World War II, and she replied, "Of course he was!" She gave me more information about my father in North Africa, that I must believe that he was.)

Actually, I usually don't like Mel Brooks movies, but I kind of liked "Spaceballs" (1987). Yeah, it's not up there with "Gone with the Wind" or "Casablanca", but it's a funny movie that is worth waching once. (I didn't say twice.)

Here's a link to some video of it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rWZ9u717xw

p.s. Maybe I liked it because John Candy was it. I loved everything he did. What a loss when he died so young. :(

"Explorers" (1985) is a great movie, and I highly recommend it for kids, and those of us, who still think we are kids. You should see it, if you never have. Order some pizza and watch it with the kids or grandkids. You will all have a good time, I promise. :D

Here's a link to a little video of it, but it doesn't give the movie justice:

"Blues Brothers 2000" (1998) is a recommendation for those, who loved the orginal "Blues Brothers" movie, and wished there was more. I'm guessing that very few were even aware of this movie, and if you were't and liked original film, you might want to take a look at "Blues Brothers 2000".

Here's a link to the trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ESdH-CRUAE

Hell, even if the movie might not be the greatest, the music is...!!! :D

p.s. I think you can pick up the DVD on the Internet for something like $2.99.

"Seven Pounds" (2008) starring Will Smith, is an interesting movie, that I think is worth seeing. I'm not going to give the story away, other than posting a link to the movie's trailer. I think most of you will like it. :D

Here's the trailer, which doesn't give the story away either:

"The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T." (1953) isn't a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it IS the first Dr. Seuss movie with real people. I suggest it only because that it was the first. Maybe your kids or grandkids might enjoy it.

Here's some video of the movie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgpfMxYFSmE

p.s. "Gerald McBoing Boing", a short cartoon in 1950, was the first Seuss film. I guess I will have to post it now.

"Next" (2007) is a good movie starring Nicholas Cage, who plays a Vegas magician, who has a special gift. I would think that very few of you have seen it, but you will like it if you do. I'm not a big Nicholas Cage fan, but he does a good job in this movie, and I give it a pretty high recommendation, because of the interesting plot.

Cloudy you did a great job. I am surprised nobody came up with "The Navy versus The Night Monsters" a cheap ripoff of "The Day of The Triffids"

"The Navy vs. the Night Monsters" (1966) sounds like a movie that I will need to add to my collection, even though IMDb only gives it one star. All I will have to do will be to down a bunch of brewskis, pretend that I'm ten years old again, and have a good time watching it. :D

Here is the trailer to FrankC's suggestion:

p.s. Thank you Frank for appreciating the work I did creating a directory to all of the goofiness that makes up the "Obscure Movies You Like..." thread. :D

"Gerald McBoing Boing" (1950) was the first Dr. Seuss film made. It is a short cartoon about a "noise making boy", which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short in 1950. As kids, my brother and I only had the book, and never knew that there was a movie cartoon of it. It's not all that bad, but I think that only kids six and under might enjoy it today. Actually, the more I think about it, the cartoon does have a message, and teaches that everybody has talents that make them special.

(TIEFLY, if you are listening, I've got a feeling that the "Gerald McBoing Boing" cartoon is something that you might be able to use teaching your special needs kids.)

Here's a link to the whole thing:

Cloudy you did a great job. I am surprised nobody came up with "The Navy versus The Night Monsters" a cheap ripoff of "The Day of The Triffids"

"The Navy vs. the Night Monsters" (1966) sounds like a movie that I will need to add to my collection, even though IMDb only gives it one star. All I will have to do will be to down a bunch of brewskis, pretend that I'm ten years old again, and have a good time watching it. :D

Here is the trailer to FrankC's suggestion:

p.s. Thank you Frank for appreciating the work I did creating a directory to all of the goofieness that makes up the "Obscure Movies You Like..." thread. :D

We also seem to have forgotten many of the great Richard Carlson SciFi and horror movies of the 50's.
"He appeared in a number of horror and science fiction films, including three 3-D films: The Maze (1953) and the classics It Came from Outer Space (1953) with Barbara Rush, Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) with Julia Adams, and The Magnetic Monster. His success in the genre led him to the director's chair for the 1954 sci-fi film Riders to the Stars, in which he also starred."

I reccomend "The Magnetic Monster". It is a serious thoughtful movie. I saw it about six months ago and I really like it.

My next five posts will be expansions on FrankC's most recent recommendations, because I think that they're good recommendations, and I wanted them to stand out. (Originally I thought that I would do them all in one post, but the more I thought about it, I was worried that I would get confused, if I did.

"The Maze" (1953) was a FrankC recommendation. After reading the plot, it seems like a good one to see for old timers, who like sci-fi horror movies from the 1950's.

Here's some video of it:

"It Came from Outer Space" (1953) is another FrankC recommendation that I decided to expand on. First of all, I'm mad at myself for letting FrankC beat me to this one, because it's a great sci-fi flick from the 1950's. I know that SPOTES and ICEMAN must have seen it too, but any of you, who enjoy this genre haven't, it's one you have to see.

Here's the trailer movie:

"Creature from the Black Lagoon" (1954) is a FrankC recommendation. I don't think Frank views it as an obscure movie, but was included, because it belonged in the group of movies that he was suggesting. Indeed, it is a sci-fi, monster movie classic that all should see, if they haven't already. There were two sequels to it, "Revenge of the Creature" (1955) and "The Creature Walks Among Us" (1956).
