I played for many years as RACKME because of my favorite sports-talk radio show (There is a much longer explanation of this, somewhere many pages down this list, but that's not the point), but that show is no longer on the air in the Portland metro area, and I don't think any other station's going to pick it up...

Dumb sports town this is, lots of people around here think soccer is actually viable entertainment; no wonder the best sports radio show's not on here...

Anywayy... Since I can't listen to the show anymore and won't pay for the weak-ass podcasts of the show... I have retired the RACKME player name and gone with another of my favorite things... I've been a big fan of the Swing Era for many, many, MANY years... So I am now (drumroll, Mr. Krupa...)

RTSHAW

Bummer...I always liked your handle name.

I was cracking up on Jim Rome's take of Ed Hochuli last week

Well, Rome was off the air for a few months in Portland and is back on now, but I have moved to the Bay Area anyway (and the Rome show is on here, even after his move to another radio network)...

So, I have stuck with RTSHAW as my player name (with a 2nd box as FSPLIT).

Funny thing re: folks understanding what the player name means... When someone noticed my RACKME handle, I'd usually get asked if I liked to play billiards, or in a few cases get asked if it was some sort of sexual reference... Strangers would tie RACKME with the Rome show only on rare occasion.

So now, I'm RTSHAW... I usually get asked, "What's a ritshaw?"

Maybe I should just use my initials or something... Nahhhhhh. :)

We lost Rome here when he went to CBS. Replaced by Colin Blowhard for one hour, followed by some local sports show for two hours. Our nearest professional sports team is 100 miles away from here. They were actually talking about who won the local horseshoes contest on the show the other day. Now I find myself listening to the 80s Lunch Request Hour a lot more frequently.

My FSPLIT box is now BIX, named after one of the early jazz greats, cornetist Bix Beiderbecke (Often considered the first great white jazz musician)

And RTSHAW is now DMFINO (whatcha gonna make your nickname now? Damn if I know...)

And now, DMFINO is back to my original P+ name... KIDD. This is due to the fact my all-time fave hoopster Jason KIDD (whom I witnessed playing high-school ball some 70 games' worth) will be eligible for the Basketball Hall Of Fame in 2018, and should be a no-brainer enshrinee. Should be voted in unanimously, but y'know, there's always someone with an ax to grind and he'll probably get like a 99.5% vote.
