New Scaratings

(An out of order post, that I will make up for, when I get to TEVERETT.)

Yeah, I smoke like a chimney, but only outside of other peoples' places. I haven't spontaneously combusted yet, but they all stand at the door watching for me to do it, when I go out on the lawn to light up. I hope to keep disappointing them for many years to come, because it actually gets me invited to lots of parties. All of the other guests at the parties are hoping to see me instantaneous erupt in flames and disappear in a puff of smoke.

p.s. Maybe I should start charging for showing up at parties, and walking outside to smoke...?

Yep, and TEVERETT smoked it too.

She used to grow her own weed, but after her landscaping fiasco, TEVERETT wasn't able to plant anything to grow anymore. So TEVERETT, ZOG, and I took off in TEVERETT's VW Microbus to California. Seldom did we roll the windows down on our journey, as we cruised across the continent.

TEVERETT sang every Janis Joplin song on that trip, a cappella. She knew all of the words to all of them, and she is a damn good singer. My only bitch about TEVERETT on our cross country trip is that she wanted to stop at every Cracker Barrel restaurant along the way, a restaurant that I hate, with the exception of their gift shop.

Oh, to be young and carefree again. This is a memory that ZOG, TEVERETT, and I will forever cherish. We were young and irresponsible, and shared an experience that we will never forget, and that few others will ever have.

Oh, a castle... There is only one for the Clan Mac Leod... Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye.



You might not believe this, but Dunvegan Castle is the oldest continuously inhabited residence on the face of the Earth. "The castle stands on a high basalt rock overlooking the loch. There was a Norse fortress here, but the current castle structure dates to around 1266." The Norse fortress was expanded upon by the Scots, but is still part of the castle. It's original stones and walls actually go back to somewhere in the ten hundreds, and they are still part of the castle today.

Enough bragging about Dunvegan Castle. Now for a baseless lie about ICEMAN...

When ICEMAN was in high school, he wrote a term paper that traced his ancestory all the way back to the original White Castle in 1921.



He got an "A" on his term paper from his teacher, who lived on White Castle sliders and fries pretty much every night of the week.

"Gloomy Sunday" was dubbed the "Hungarian suicide song" in the United States. It became closely associated in the English-speaking world with Billie Holiday. Her version of the song, using Lewis's lyrics, became a hit in 1941, and the description appeared on the label of Holiday's record.

There have been several urban legends regarding the song over the years, mostly involving it being allegedly connected with various numbers of suicides, and radio networks reacting by purportedly banning the song. However, most of these claims are unsubstantiated.
Press reports in the 1930s associated at least 19 suicides, both in Hungary and America, with "Gloomy Sunday", but most of the deaths supposedly linked to it are difficult to verify. The urban legend appears to be, for the most part, simply an embellishment of the high number of Hungarian suicides that occurred in the decade when the song was composed due to other factors such as famine and poverty. No studies have drawn a clear link between the song and suicide.

The BBC banned Billie Holiday's version of the song from being broadcast, as being detrimental to wartime morale, but allowed performances of instrumental versions. However, there is little evidence of any other radio bans; the BBC's ban was lifted by 2002.

She was the one to break it off. She couldn't handle his constant complaints about the razor burns & ingrown hairs. It would seem our friend Cloudy doesn't care for girls with stubble... All over.

Actually, ICEMAN stole the Sasquatch lady from me. He has much lower standards, when it comes to women, than I do. One night, while I was in the shower, he snuck up to my house, with a very ripe two week old salmon catch, to lure her into his car. Of course she took the bait, and rode off with him. Thank you ICEMAN, I hope you both live happily ever after. I will save a fortune in Drano, now that I don't have to clean all of that fur out of drains to unplug them anymore.

p.s. If you want to keep her happy, don't go to Krogers for food. Just pick up any road kill that you find on the way back from work, and bring it home with you. She will lick the platter clean.

Disappointed in the dismal performance of the public schools in Cincinnati, TEVERETT opened a charter school for parents to send their kids to, so they might learn something. Her students did fabulously, and the scores on their achievement tests were more than 25% higher than those of the students in the public schools. All of her students graduated, and went on to college, with quite a few of them receiving scholarships to Ivy League universities. One would think that such success would be applauded. Sadly, it wasn't, and the Ohio Department of Education closed her school down.

WHY...?

After a visit to TEVERETT's charter school, the Ohio Department of Education was appalled to see that her students did nothing but play NTN Buzztime trivia, watching it on TV's all day, as the Cincinnati Teachers' Union had reported to them.

TEVERETT sued, but settled out of court, when the Ohio Department of Education offered her 10,000,000 Players Plus points to drop her law suit.

Oh, she got that one backwards...

The truth is that I invited TEVERETT to join us to watch "Thunder Over Louisville", which is the largest and best fireworks show in the World...! She was a no show, and gave us the lame excuse, "If you've seen one, you've seen them all." She also said that because she doesn't know how to swim, that she was concerned about about being too close to the river.
