Those of you who know CAVMAN will probably want to know that he has now lost the use of most of his limbs and is now under hospice care in his house. It has been a valiant eight-year fight for him, and I count myself privileged to have played with him a couple of years ago. What a great guy and a great attitude, considering what he was going through.

If you know Theresa, please send her your thoughts and sympathies--she prefers texts and emails to phone calls right now.

We corresponded when I was trying to set up a Toronto trivia event.

At that time Larry mentioned his fondness for several Ontario wines. The rieslings in particular reminded him of the type he enjoyed when he was stationed in Europe.

I was hoping to meet and share a bottle with him someday....now it doesn't look like I'll get the chance.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

I never really knew him, we had our spats. I didn't know him but am curious what is his ailment? You can reply in PM if you like.

Peace be with him.

Bobby, Larry was a Vietnam vet that was exposed to Agent Orange and has been battling cancer for 8 plus years.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and I'm sure he would have no ill thoughts of you.

Larry Penrose
1947 - 2010

Visitation:

Sunday, May 23, 2010 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Families Residence Service: Private

Dr. Larry D. Penrose lost his 8 ½ year battle with multiple cancers Saturday, April 24th, at the age of 63. He left quietly to Join the Angels and Soar with the Eagles. The family would like to thank Pickaway County Hospice for their outstanding care and support during this difficult journey. Their efforts ensured that Larry died as he lived, courageously with dignity and honor. In accordance with his wishes a “Celebration of His Life” will be held at the family home on May 23rd from 1 to 5. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City. To leave a special message for the family visit www.NewcomerColumbus.com

Larry wrote the following:
Larry D. Penrose, DBA, (MSG USA, RET) began his research into the afterlife. He will combine techniques from education and business along with scouting and advance recon skills honed while serving with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Blackhorse) in Vietnam to explore the infinite realms of God’s creation. Foremost he will seek out those to whom he promised to pass messages to from those who have asked. This will provide the opportunity to meet and get to know his mother, Ada Jenkins and to again be with his adopted mother, Flora and other relatives. Larry’s wife, Theresa; sons, Chris (Gretchen) and Brian; grandchildren, Zach and Sophia and their families wish him well on his journey until they meet again. His families Penrose and Jenkins will be missed as well as his chosen extended family the “Georgia Gang” and all his brothers and sisters in arms… bless those who serve others. For all his experiences in life, family, friends, business and education associates, military life and trivia players Larry was blessed and fortunate to meet so many wonderful, caring, kind and loving people. He wants all of you to know that he made lots of mistakes, had ups and downs as all humans do and most of all loves and is thankful for all of those people in his life. Thanks to all of you for your support, friendship, love and prayers.

“Life is not a destination it is a journey, it has no end only new beginnings… take each step as it comes and remember to love, care and be happy.”
Scouts Out… Allons!!!
