I got screwed by a power outage at Torrey Pines for 1980s Rock Music, the Headliner I really wanted to play. No way in hell to get to one of the other locations in 10 minutes...and Buzztime blocked my fake GPS. LOL

For Players at no box bars seeing the “you have no points to wager” error message on the app before the Final Q, Buzztime reports they have found the problem and will be working on a fix. There is no timetable yet for this fix.

In the meanwhile to get around the error hit the back arrow twice to go back to the list of bars then go back in thus resetting the connection and wager screen. It does not always work.

Meanwhile, tonight is the 27 club, hopefully Tom D has a nice set of questions for that.

Days, Months, Years was the best game I have seen in a long time! Even the Mrs. had no complaints. It was our first time playing on the app. Torrey Pines said their Buzztime was down, but I'm wondering if it's just the new format kicking in.

So what was the headliner about last night, couldn’t play this one? Was it song titles with the days of the week or a month in them? Guns N Roses? Mamas and Papas?

As for Torrey Pines only having the app working, I’ve seen that at blue box bars in the past. Probably just something fixable. I don’t think BT has turned off the blue boxes quite yet. I would expect a deadline announcement for that. But if the blue box connection to the computer isn’t an easy fix Torrey Pines might just get sent the new no box system.

That’s what happened at my bar, blue box system couldn’t be fixed (no app working, no boxes working) and instead of a new computer as in the past we got the new no box, crappy, always disconnecting system. Sucks pretty bad but it’s better than nothing at all.

It was songs with Days, Months, and Years in the title (or somewhere in the lyrics)...Monday Monday by the Mamas and Papas; 1921 from the Who album Tommy; the last question was a Taylor Swift song with September in the lyrics. It was a very playable game for us oldsters.

I was in the Buzztime chat this morning and they aren't repairing any of the blue boxes and bars will need the new equipment. We had no issues with connectivity on Saturday night, although we only stayed for the one game as the smoke was getting to my wife. I play longer when I'm by myself. I'll have to check with someone who knows at Torrey Pines how to log into the wifi to play because next time I want to bring my tablet with me for it's bigger screen and it's wifi only, otherwise I'll have to do a mobile hotspot thing with my phone.
